15th-Aug-2009 09:59 pm - Movie D8 and D9
Okay Okay!  With much hesitation I convinced myself to try watching District 9.

Will really wanted to watch it yesterday and I shot the idea down like a duck in season.  I don't like alien movies, but since he was so nice to me the last few days and even got me a new computer -- I decided I had to man-up and be nice.

District 9 (D9 for short) was not just your normal alien movie.  You actually see the aliens through out the whole movie and not some Alien Vs. Predator flick with not a lot of thought and a lot of violence.  The story was well made and the acting was acceptable.  My only problem was that they referred the aliens as PRAWNS.  SRSLY?  NOW I CAN'T LOOK THAT PRAWNS THE SAME WAY AGAIN.

Speaking of which I had have a new recipe I've conjured up for spaghetti.  Yes, for the last 72 hours I have eaten carbs and carbs I will continue to eat.  Despite my plan to go no-carb I found it very unrealistic to blow my money on food that I don't have when I have shit loads of food in the pantry waiting to be cook.  It looks like it's time to do portion control and more P90X (or The SHRED).

I felt bad that I had to ditch my co-works on the last hour of the day today to go to the clinic.  I hate leaving my staff behind, but atleast I know they were okay when I left them.  Our patients were as crazy as always but I can't help all of humanity and I can't expect that everyone's going to be too nice about it.  I always wonder why a lot of people are so grumpy.

Well -- my life has approached another Pandora's Box.  It's about to be opened.  What will happen next?
9th-Aug-2009 10:06 am - Inspiration!
After watching the movie Julie and Julia, I am once more inspired to pursue this ambition to cook and write.  I must say it is very unoriginal of me to think that by watching a movie about blogging and cooking will inspire me to do the same thing.  But rather than thinking of it as copying Julie Powell's endeavor, it is more of a beacon that will guide me towards my own uniqueness.  Insert random originality quote here

I am very honored that [info]laikaken  and [info]sugarcages had asked me to participate in this blog -- as they both well know that I've had at least four blogs that have all been deleted, plus the fact that I hardly ever finish anything I start.

I really like to cook --- I'd even take it as far as to say that I started to cook when I was only eight years old.  I constantly watched my relatives cook food, but the real emancipation of this little chef was when my nanny was sick and was unable to cook food for me and my sibling.  I remember it well:  she woke up me up one summer morning, groaning from a stomach ache brought about eating too much mangoes.  She claimed that it was some sort of pesticide that had made her sick, I always thought it was impacho -- or over eating

Anyway, the first thing I've ever cooked in my life was a cheese quesadilla.  Shredded cheddar cheese spread in between two flour tortillas, microwaved for 30 seconds.  My father taught me this recipe during one of his midnight snack runs.  The rest as they say is history -- I was addicted to cooking.  So I hope that [info]altanghap  becomes a long term project bewteen friends.  I am very excited and hopeful that this is a start of something that I could finish -- not that I have thought of an ending just yet.  That would be another entry.  :-)
